Dear Wolverine Football Alumni and their parents,

The Football Boosters would like to invite you to continue your connection to South Anchorage Football by joining the booster club as an alumni member. The new Alumni Booster program is designed to allow Wolverine Football Alumni (and parents) to support South's football program while remaining in touch with each other. Be sure to check out the new Alumni section on the team's web site.

Your alumni membership dues ($15 individual and $20 for family) will provide you an alumni membership pin, an alumni membership card, and a members-only discount on all booster merchandise. You will receive email notification of all games, Homecoming events, fund-raising opportunities, social events, and end-of the-season banquets. You can also opt to have your name and contact information included the Alumni Directory that will be updated annually and distributed to alumni members via email.

We have established an Alumni Football Scholarship that will be awarded in the spring. This $500 scholarship will be funded with alumni donations beyond the dues payments. It will be awarded to a senior who plans to continue playing football in college. As you know, full-ride college football scholarships are rare, especially for players from Alaska. Several of our alumni are currently playing college football: Patxi Colbern (2009) Brown University, Sterling Lopez (2008) Truman State University, Grant Stophlet University of Mary (2007), Jaryd Anderson (2006) University of Houston, Martel Bankhead (2006) University of Mary, Ryan Dougherty (2005) Central Washington University, Brendan Fowler (2005) University of Montana, and Mike Petrovich (2006) Western Oregon University. College players often have to cut their summer jobs short to report to practice long before the regular fall term begins. Wouldn't it be great to be able to provide scholarship money to deserving senior football players every year? Please consider donating to the scholarship fund or volunteering to be on the scholarship selection committee.
